Invited by the Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation of Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) and School of International Education (SIE), Senior Colonel ZHAO Yanqing gave a Party lecture about “Advocating Lei Feng spirit and practicing the socialist core values” at the Innovation Works 101 on the afternoon of April 19th, who was led by CHEN Nianqiang, the Director of the Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation of GDUT and the former School Party Secretary. The lecture was hosted by ZHANG Xiaobing, the Director of the Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation and the Party Secretary of SIE. Some students as well as the Communist Party members of SIE participated in the lecture.
Senior Colonel ZHAO Yanqing is the witness to the Self-defense War Against Vietnam. He also has many titles: a good model of learning from Lei Feng in the army, the First Hero Model, the former Deputy Political Commissar of the 126th Division of Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces(CAPF) and the guest member of Old Professors Report Delegation of the Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation of GDUT. During the lecture, Senior Colonel ZHAO shared his own experience in the Self-defense War Against Vietnam in 1979. In the war, he was always in peril and even witnessed the death of his comrades-in-arms. He shared another story about a crowd of orphans saved by the Chinese People’s Volunteers (CPV) in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.
Combining with his own experience of learning, growing up, joining the army and advocating Lei Feng spirit, Senior Colonel ZHAO clarified four aspects of advocating Lei Feng spirit. The first one is advocating the “nail” spirit to work hard. The second one is learning from Lei Feng’s “screw” spirit of showing his dedication to work. The third one is learning from Lei Feng’s “fool” spirit of integrity and kindness. The fourth one is learning from Lei Feng’s ‘thrift” spirit to strive hard. In the end, he played two songs with a violin, namely Learn from the Good Model Citizen Lei Feng and Sing a Folk Song to the Party.
Senior Colonel Zhao’s Party lecture touched us deeply and made us to reflect on ourselves: Although we are ordinary, we should always bear Lei Feng spirit in mind and be the new generation of college students to serve people heart and soul.（ Written by: Guo Weiqi）
赵燕清大校党课：弘扬雷锋精神、践行社会主义核心价值观
受学校关心下一代工作委员会和我院联合邀请，赵燕清大校于4月19日下午在国际教育学院创新工场101开讲“弘扬雷锋精神、践行社会主义核心价值观”专题党课。学校关工委主任、原学校党委书记陈年强亲自带队，我院党委书记、关工委主任张晓冰主持报告会，全院党员和部分学生参加了党课学习。
赵燕清大校是对越自卫反击战亲历者，全军学雷锋模范，一级英模，武警126师原副政委，校关工委·老教授报告团特邀成员。报告会上，赵大校分享了1979年对越自卫反击战的亲身经历，在这场战争中时刻面临着生命的危险，甚至眼睁睁看着战友在自己面前牺牲。赵大校分享了在抗美援朝时中国志愿军救助一群孤儿的故事。
赵大校结合亲身学习经历、成长经历、参战经历和弘扬雷锋精神的经历，阐述了弘扬雷锋精神的四个方面：一是弘扬雷锋同志刻苦学习的“钉子”精神；二是学习雷锋同志爱岗敬业的“螺丝钉”精神；三是学习雷锋同志诚信友善的“傻子”精神；四是学习雷锋同志艰苦奋斗的“节约”精神。赵大校还用小提琴现场演奏《学习雷锋好榜样》和《唱支山歌给党听》。
赵大校的党课深深地感动了我们并且引人深思：尽管我们都很平凡，但是我们应该铭记雷锋精神，做到全心全意为人民服务的新一代大学生。
